I had two old extension cords behind my bed to power bedside lamps and cell phone chargers. The cables were unsightly, had no surge protection, and were easily detached. When the chargers became loose, it was difficult to move furniture to get to the ports. I mounted the device on the wall directly above the carpet. It's very accessible, charges our phones quickly due to the increased voltage over regular chargers, and looks a lot better on the wall than the old two-strip power strips.
