Review on Capistrano by Seth Singh

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Capistrano helps keep software applications in constant development

I like that you can use it for so many different things, from deploying to staging environments all over your network with one command! It's not perfect but definitely has some useful features when working remotely or managing multiple servers at once (deploying). Not much actually - just try using cap deploy first before asking questions here; maybe there is something else out their which would be better suited? We've been able solve our problems of having an unstable environment by setting up several VMs as we need them instead of relying solely upon production machines/servers being down etc., because they often are due to various reasons outside my control e.g.. power cuts during storms.

Pros
  • Very easy setup &amp sharing across teams easily via Git repositories..Great way around deployment issues especially where server connectivity may fail temporarily...Easy configuration management through file editing
Cons
  • I don't really have any dislikes about this, everything is just fine
