So I used these along with my other 4WD Astro ball joint kit to replace the upper and lower ball joints on my 2003 GMC Envoy XL SLT. v8. One way or another, the upper got off lightly, while the lower; not as much. A cup I used for the bottom pieces almost fit. You must be a wizard for this to happen. I had to heat the forearms until they were almost completely melted; At the same time, punch out the ball joints with a heavy-duty impact wrench. It took several attempts as the cup and clamping tool kept falling or moving. You need to make a shell specifically for GMC ENVOY LOWER BALL JOINTS. These ball joints are among the strongest I've ever experienced. If I had to do it all over again, I'd just find a cup made specifically for my Messenger's bottom ball joint rather than buying a huge kit that would likely gather dust.
