Have I checked if the surface I'm pressing is flat? Yes, the first thing I thought.. I have the second Tried mount. Same result. $60 mount/stand, which I can't use. Even though they didn't rotate at the base, they still seem to require constant tightening. Bottom line: If you have an iPad 12.9" or something rocking with similar height/weight, you can stay away.
