No matter how tight it is, it still leaks and even a little. I've used it on standard XR100 cables. It worked and I'm not dissatisfied. Be prepared to have a rag wrapped around it to soak up the mess. The cables work very well after use. Don't expect liquid to leak out of the other end of the cable immediately. I left and came back after a while and gravity did its work. Lube came out the other end.
