The largest external drive in terms of memory and size that I have. I don’t remember exactly when they gave it to me, but there are definitely two or three years. I had discs, but for some reason I bought with a small amount of memory, so I always lacked, especially if you store different films, including, of course, your favorite TV shows, children's cartoons. In appearance, the external drive is in the form of a rectangle, with parameters 18x11.5x3.5 cm. If you look like that, it seems like a small external drive, but if you put it somewhere on the table, it seems a bit big. Although you can install or adapt if you install everything more tightly, but there are also cords that also need to be adapted somehow. Although if the desk is not large, then you have to tinker, and of course I put an additional table next to it. The external drive comes with a power supply unit with a 170 cm long electric cord and a 120 cm long USB cable. networks all the time. But such an external drive, which is powered separately from the network, is suitable for laptops so as not to waste energy from the battery. The external drive is packaged in a cardboard box with all the information in English. I always say if there is no information in Russian, then it is not designed for us, including this external drive. After all, before buying a disk, buyers need to know to read what kind of product, then I realized why it was needed. Somehow I ran into this when I had a question about buying a router, I called the manager and asked, he told me that I bought and when he got home he just didn't fit. Well, of course, they issued a return, but they might not have accepted it, so when buying various devices, you need to keep in mind that the information received from the manager may not always be true. If you can see in the photo, you can see the volume of the external drive on the box, the USB 2.0 parameters, the image of the external drive, the name of the product itself. At the bottom of the box there is also some information, everything is in English, the manufacturer is Thailand, there are bar codes, some parameters of the external drive are indicated. I can’t say about the usefulness of such information, because, to be honest, I didn’t even delve into it. Inside the box there is an external disk itself, they were in a separate plastic package, with a protective cardboard. As well as a power supply and a USB cable, which I will write about below. On the outermost disk from its upper part, there is a WD sign, and there are no inscriptions or differences. The absence of unnecessary inscriptions is also a kind of big plus, because if there were some kind of inscription, it would have to be translated so as not to be mistaken. And so I visually saw and understood what and how. On one of the narrow side there is a special power input, as well as an input for a USB 2.0 cable. And next to it is a small indicator lamp, when connected to the mains, the lamp starts flashing, then it becomes clear that the disk is working. In principle, there are no problems both with preparing an external drive for work and during connection. If the external drive is placed on its side, then you can see the small legs of the stand on which the drive itself is placed, the length is most likely about 1 - 1.5 mm. At the bottom there is a sticker with some information that I have not figured out. Nothing more can be found, there are no more inscriptions. The power supply to the external drive is simple, made in China, the power supply itself has all the necessary information, the manufacturer itself, model parameters, etc. are indicated. The adapter has a filter on the wire itself, and everything is as usual. The USB cable, also like all usual ones, with two different inputs, there is some kind of inscription on the wire itself, most likely these are its parameters. It is convenient that a standard cable is used; in case of damage, you can buy a new one. The power supply and cable are connected to an external drive simply, there are no difficulties with this. Everything is as usual, without any changes, without innovations. There are special connectors, it is impossible to confuse the input parts, because they are all special and different. They are inserted easily, without any difficulty or effort, at least for me exactly like that. During use, by mistake, I did not format the external drive for all computers, that is, for Windows and Macintosh. If necessary, you can, of course, find a way out of how to do this, but so far I do not fully use this external disk, since I cannot delete unnecessary information from the disk. Here, what else needs to be borne in mind is that it is not advisable to use such a disk as a working one, because there is a risk of its failure. I mean that all day long for several hours to exploit it. As for the fact that there is a separate power supply for the drive, this is most likely a plus, despite the fact that you need to fuss with the cable when installing the drive. I do not constantly use this disk, only when necessary, it just needs to be removed constantly or installed when necessary. When I didn’t have this external drive, I didn’t use a large 500 GB drive, I didn’t think that I would ever use such a large one. I thought that I would buy not large 500 or 250 GB The convenience of an external drive lies in how much memory is in the drive itself, whether it can be connected to any device, computers and laptops. In this case, the external drive works only from the network, therefore it is designed to work in stationary conditions, that is, where there is access to electrical networks. The main convenience is that an external drive can be carried and transported, and most importantly not convenience, it is not always possible to use it, only if there is energy. The design is simple and ordinary, I did not find any striking elements, so we can assume that the design itself does not exist as such. In principle, all of these discs of this brand look the same, both small and large. To be honest, a couple of times I saw all sorts of covers for such discs, I thought that these discs were produced in this form, it turned out that the covers. I think that this is superfluous, although many people like the way they say there is no comrade for the taste and color. The functionality of an external disk is the storage of information, as well as all the necessary information can be copied and transferred to other devices, while the information is stored on the disk. You can easily erase information or delete any file, just as easily transfer information to a disk. Such a large amount of information for home use, it's just a great option. I can say that this external drive has excellent functionality. The reliability of such an external drive is that nothing affects its memory, neither a shake, nor various small bumps. Only a solo impact, such as a fire, or some kind of transport moved. And you also need to know, in many respects, the correct operation of the external disk itself lies. While transferring information from a disk to another device, you must not turn off the disk. In this regard, I can say that the external drive is reliable, although I have never dropped it or there have been no rough impacts. The quality of an external drive is, first of all, the strength of the case of the drive itself. In this regard, I can’t say anything for sure, because I didn’t check the strength of the case in any way. We will assume that in the production itself, where they are obliged to control the quality of products, the quality control body works normally. And so, in principle, I personally have no complaints about the quality, so I can consider the external drive to be of high quality. While using the disk, he stored various information, transferred it to other devices, and also transferred information from other devices to the disk. A lot of information is stored, they do not age, do not deteriorate, safe and sound, I myself am personally satisfied. It is very convenient for me to store photos and videos from different trips, because I mainly shoot videos. As for the very quality of the videos that I store on the disk, they do not change, although they say that the quality is distorted over time. I think so, everything changes sometimes, even the people themselves, so there should be nothing surprising in this. So I will rate five stars, I think that this is a well-deserved rating for this type of external drive. I will recommend the disc, especially for those who store a lot of information at home. And of course, for those who often use an external drive in stationary mode. Many at least in order to just try it, because for all the time of use it has not failed yet.
