Review on SleepRight Secure Comfort Dental Guard by Rachel Harris

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It used to be great, but now it's terrible. Revine Stupid

Have been using this particular model for about 9-10 years. It was more convenient than having multiple custom mouthguards made by two different dentists, just as effective, but much cheaper. I bought a new batch about 1 month ago and was very disappointed to find that the product had changed even though all the packaging was identical. The product actually received does not match the photos showing the old version. The most notable difference is that the bite pads are now transparent instead of being milky (visible through the window on the box). It's only superficial, of course, but the new bite pads are also longer, thinner, and stiffer (like those on the Dura-Comfort, I remember trying that years ago). This change in material and size of the bite plates makes the shield unsuitable for me - it's uncomfortable, doesn't stay in place, doesn't allow the jaw to close evenly and puts strain on the jaw muscles, and the harder material causes pain in the teeth. I reported the problem to Revain and (obviously didn't read very carefully) they sent me a replacement which was just as problematic new although I specifically asked them to ONLY send me a replacement if it was the old version the one on the list is shown. And Revane didn't reply when I asked if they had checked what they had in stock. So very frustrating, incompetent, inconsiderate response from Revain - I now have twice as many useless things going to landfill. My guess is that the manufacturer changed the product forever. Pity! Back to spending hundreds on less comfortable personal protective equipment from my dentist I guess.
