My Macbook Pro 2019 sends 165Hz to an external 25" Scepter monitor with this adapter. the speed of my external monitor compared to the 60 Hz of my internal monitor. However, you need a display port cable that runs at higher speeds (I'm using ASIN B07JJXM4FR 4.1 high speed cable) and your external monitor must be able to independently tune to the higher frequency, so my external display runs at a maximum frequency of 165 Hz. If your external monitor has external speakers that sound good (mine are tinny), this cable and adapter combo lets you switch to them as the output, but I use an external Soundcore Bluetooth speaker that reproduces the sound of my Videos really improved. Your graphics card must also support 4k. I'm very happy with the results I'm getting. If you have all of the above then you can really see the difference too. This is a good product.
