They were made cheaply. They are definitely not "expensive ebony "
I am knitting a blanket and need to buy a new needle set because this set is full of junk. The cable does not remain connected to the needle. Either the cord or the needle was threaded incorrectly. I can't pull the cord over the needle either. You tighten it and it just won't stop spinning. DO NOT BUY if you will have a lot of weight on the cables. (That's the point of using cables.) Save money.
