Might be 5 stars but read below: Comfortable, great fabric - not too light and not too heavy, holds shape and color through wash and basically a great pair of shorts, except for one major : the line breaks! Almost every couple! It's ok for a while but after a bit of wear the cord frays and snaps... I've pulled on a few pairs as I sew a lot but the good quality elastic used has a sleeve for the cord - it's all 1 piece – so you can't tighten it again without smoothing it slightly at the back seam. Sewing through the cord weakens the fibers and causes them to break. This issue has been encountered with other brands but I figured Russell would keep the quality thread to match the quality of the fabric, construction and style of the shorts and pants. I have old pants and the drawstring isn't cotton, it's much, much thicker. It's a shame they compromised on such a small, seemingly inconsequential thing, but it's not inconsequential at all - keeping things running is paramount!
