Review on SanDisk Extreme 240GB 2 5 Inch Height by Amanda Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I took a chance and GAIN LOTS OF TIME. Macbook 2011 as a new computer!

Holy shit. I bought it in late 2011 out of desperation and hatred for my Macbook Pro. Since I bought it this thing has been junk and even 3 Apple Stores have said something is wrong because it's so slow. But she passed all the tests. So there was nothing they could do. This MacBook has taken over 15 seconds to open an app since the day I bought it. He could barely tune in. Conclusion: I read J. Perkins (posted August 30, 2014) and reviewed by Andrea Polk (posted August 17, 2014) and made it in such a short time. I bought a hard drive, an Inateck 2.5 USB 3.0 external enclosure (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FCLG65U/ref=ox_ya_os_product_refresh_T1) and cloned the entire Macbook hard drive. It took hours, I think 13 or so, but I had over 450GB of disk space. I had to go to the Home Depot and buy a small Torx screwdriver because I didn't have a T6 (tiny). I've been looking at how to select an external (SSD) as the Macbook's boot disk (so that the computer ignores the mounted disk at startup and boots the OS from the external/SSD). The computer worked, was already faster, so I went for it. I removed the back of the laptop, carefully removed the hard drive and placed this SSD there. I had to use a small furniture pad as a spacer between the case and the drive to keep it secure, but THEN. I started the computer, it's very fast, each application opens in seconds (actually, I started the computer and clicked on each application below to see how it loads very quickly). It's honestly worth it as a new computer. I've since formatted an old Macbook hard drive, removed the mounting screws and it's not installed in an Inateck case as a 500GB external hard drive for GoPro storage and images. woman = happy.
