Perfect phone (if it works)

This really is a perfect phone (if not defective). When I first bought this phone (CD4930 Black) it came with a defect. The dial tone did not work. So I returned it and bought it again (CL4940 White). This time everything worked without problems. Based on my experience, I recommend the CL4940 over the CD4930 (but I'm not sure if there's any difference other than the color). I like the following: Batteries) for caller ID/speaker/answering machine, etc.3) The phone works without AC power (without the above features)4) High volume and easy to adjust5) Simple and convenient to use6) Has redial, speed dial, etc. 7) Large, well-lit screen (easy to read)8) Date/time auto-fill (on first call) and then left on screen9) Has a built-in answering machine (no need for an external system) Has many other features too. I can't think of anything I need that this phone doesn't have. I've seen a lot of reviews on here saying it's cheap and will break soon (have to wait and see). I hope that's not the case, because such phones are becoming increasingly rare. There aren't many wired landline phones left. I don't understand why everyone wants to put up with batteries, charging, poor reception, etc. (cordless phones suck). There are no such problems with this phone. Everything works and is reliable. I hope that the fixed line will become more popular again. I wouldn't want them to go.
