They're tight enough to stay in place well, but not so tight that they cause a headache. I use them to hold my hair in the bath and also when I wash my face and do my skincare at night. I'm a **grown up woman so I won't tell you to wear them for fashion or outings, but your kid might look cute in them! Two thumbs up from me.
