Very good for extending Wi-Fi range, but don't count on half a mile. From my testing it works well from 100 to 1000 feet and the farther you go the slower or more variable your internet speeds will be, even if you're showing full bands on your wifi. I think it also depends on the router on the other side. It's safe to say you'll get good speeds again at 300+ feet, it all depends on the router of course. Be sure to order an extra large antenna, which will take a lot of punishment when there are connection problems, work much better and have a better gain.
