I first ordered two identical sizes (3xl) for my 42 lb dog and my 49 lb dog but the 49 lb dog needed a size up. 3xl fit but a bit tight. So I ordered 4xl from her and now both fit perfectly. The coats are water-repellent and feel warm. They are slightly fitted and the fluffy collar is very warm and cozy. First you need to slip her front paws through the holes, then attach the tiny clip over her front paws that holds the coat together so you can pull it underneath and then just clip the harness back together. The harness is adjustable and feels solid enough even if they decide to wrestle together on the street. Funny, funny, funny. :o) So far I really like them. You are worth your money.
