The speakers are loud enough to be heard even at high speeds. They don't have any bass that gets lost while driving anyway, and my ears felt "deaf" from the highs after a 30 minute drive, but I can't think of a better outcome for speakers that are struggling winds to reach your ears. I use them with a half helmet. The microphone seems to cancel out all noise even when idle. I've tried controlling my phone with Google Assistant and it barely hears me when it's idle and not at all while driving. The padded model can work well from the front, but I wouldn't recommend it if you plan on using it to communicate with a half mask or open face helmet.
