We use these to hold an original painting on a loose canvas approximately 3.5 x 7 feet. After discussing different ways to hang this large painting, we settled on these clips because we liked the idea of emphasizing the nature and authenticity of the painting on canvas and most of the other methods were ridiculously expensive! :) These are great little clips and they work really well! The canvas isn't really as heavy as I feared but after using these clamps I feel like it doesn't matter as they are very secure and I couldn't move them as much as I would try to pull on them. ! We use 1 clip in each corner so it's really only 2 clips holding it in place and the bottom 2 clips attach it to the wall. The mechanism that holds the material is also reversible depending on the thickness of the intended material, which is nice.
