My golden retriever had a bad case of fleas despite I applied topical tick&flea control 2 weeks ago. I gave her a bath using this shampoo yesterday, and right after a bath, I found a total of 8 dead fleas amongst 3 live fleas. Although those live fleas were not so "active" and were kind of slow, it is concerning that this shampoo didn't kill them upon contact. The scent of this shampoo reminds me of citronella candles that drive mosquitoes away. Long story short, this shampoo definitely has no power of repelling fleas or keeping my dog flea-protected for 7 days. The scent pretty much was gone after 24 hours, and I kept finding new fleas on my dog. I also apply another tube of flea&tick control after the bath. So I guess the fleas I found today might from hatched eggs or new visitors that hitch for a ride during our walk today. Either way, this shampoo does provide instant relief to your pets because it does kill most of the fleas upon contact. However, it should be used with other flea prevention products in the market to solve flea issues with your pets.
