thermal switch of very poor design. It uses a tiny thin gauge with straight threads (it can't be pipe threads, it comes off instantly) and limits the use of sealant. I tried applying a small amount to the base of the switch which was still seeping through the transfluid. Use a tiny o-ring until I can replace it with a 1/8" pipe thread fitting/gauge which is another $25. Derale KNOWS it is leaking, there are many complaints about it on the internet. Your own two stars for a decent fan/heat exchanger and crappy customer service I also don't feel comfortable controlling the amperage via that tiny switch, the fan is only 5 amps but it's enough to heat it up even more, when the gearbox gets hot and the fan is under load for a long time, which shortens the life of the switch. I added a relay circuit so the load doesn't go through the switch. Keep your hands off Derale products from now on.
