Easily clips to a table to hold the monitor in portrait mode. It works as described and I'm happy with the result, but there's one thing I find worth mentioning regarding the setup. This supports 360 degree rotation of the monitor. When I first set it up I thought maybe it was wrong because it didn't work. However, the fulcrum is very rigid and requires little force to turn it. So yes, it works, don't worry! The brief documentation that came with it wasn't very clear, but searching reviews here gave me a clue. If you have a heavier monitor, you should probably start by adding weight to the gas arm. When I first plugged in my monitor (14 pounds) it was too weak to carry. So I had to turn the monitor on and off for a bit to set it up. I suspect it's easier to tighten and then shrink when the monitor is on the stand. Finally, the hinge that controls the up/down tilt of the monitors has attachment points on either side of the arm. For a moment I thought the connection wasn't strong enough to support my monitor. Turns out I just had to tighten the other side and everything works fine now.
