It's a good idea, and the fact that it's dishwasher safe...

It's a good idea, and the fact that it's dishwasher safe and doesn't move around a lot on the counter tops it down a good idea when cutting blackboard. Metal shavings near the cutting edge. I know I get cheap knives from specialty stores, but sharpening and preparing seem like tasks that are best kept separate. Of course, you can still do this to keep your tools together and functional, but this seems to lead to a dangerous, or at least not-so-pleasant situation.
