Review on ALORAIR Dehumidifier Commercial Industrial Restoration by Michelle Ortiz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The currently best dehumidifier with the best price-performance ratio. Will be updated as usage increases.

Before I talk about this model, I would like to tell you about my many years of experience with dehumidifiers. Back then I had at least 12 dehumidifiers. I started, like most people, with housing units that cost between $170 and $200 and typically last about six months past the warranty or 18 months before death. Once I studied repair costs, I found that simply buying a new device made more sense. I kept switching brands and hoping for luck, but when a major recall came about 5 years ago, it turned out that almost all the units were actually from the same manufacturer. They just branded them differently to fool us. This is not an urban myth and not my opinion, look. After discovering this fact I started looking for devices not made by this company and there weren't many options until you switched to commercial devices. which are usually manufactured by different companies. But at the time they cost about two thousand dollars, and I thought they were too loud and bulky for home or small business use. just over a thousand apiece on eBay. Brand B-Air, model VG-1500 Vantage (https://www.amazon.com/B-Air-Vantage1500-Industrial-Dehumidifier-Restoration/dp/B011RLIDSQ/), and while it's certainly not perfect, it got me not given not a second of trouble after 3 years of use, so compared to cheaper devices it has almost paid for itself. Recently I realized I needed something stronger and home so I started searching again and came across this ALORAIR. The Storm Pro is a few hundred less than what I've paid for other devices I've used, which is why it caught my attention. While I was concerned that the price might mean it wasn't as good as my other devices since Revain has such a good returns policy, I figured there was no risk in trying it at home. I got it up and running in less than 10 minutes and spent most of my time screwing in the grip screws. I was immediately impressed with many things about this model - it is actually better designed and better built than my B-Air units. Little things like the power cord are interchangeable. So if you damage it, you can easily replace it. If you need a longer/shorter cable, you can purchase one. Air filtration is also very different. Instead of a very simple 'filter' like my B-Air units have, it has a real filter which is huge as these units handle so much air that a real filter can make a huge difference in indoor air quality. While not necessary, the case opens up for quick access to internals, which isn't the case with the B-Air. The display is much better than the simple buttons on the B-Air units and I love that I can monitor the temperature and humidity of both the incoming and outgoing air in real time. But what I like most about this ALORAIR Storm Pro is the quietness. It's quieter than most apartment units I've used and a lot quieter than B-Air units. I'm really excited to use their app to track progress remotely, but haven't set it up yet. If it works I may be able to replace my B-Air units just for this feature. Given that my B-Air units still sell for over $1,100, I expect this model to sell for $1,500 or more. great for commercial use, but why buy one for the home? Because of the mind. I can set it up and forget about it instead of worrying about a cheaper home model. This unit pulls more water from the air than my old unit, it filters the air, it's quieter and will probably last well over 10 years since it's built like a reservoir. To see it in action, I first put the hose in a 10 gallon bucket I have and sure enough it was half full in just a few hours. with this company. I will update this review if anything goes wrong or needs fixing, but I don't expect this to happen for a long time. If you have any questions about this device, please feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer them.
