If you are expecting a standard yarn commonly used to knit a hat or scarf, this yarn will probably disappoint you; it is a finer yarn than that, but not so fine that it is useless. You just have to double it to get the same thickness in the final product. This yarn actually glows in the dark which is really cool - it's almost impossible to find glow in the dark yarn and I haven't found any standard yarn sizes yet so Lion Brand is your only option. It's a cool blue-green glow and you won't read because of the light it gives off, but you don't have to convince anyone that "it really glows, trust me bro" with this yarn. One ball should be enough for about a medium-sized hat; I made one using standard stitches and it's more lacy than warm, but I've ordered three more skeins and will try more intricate patterns to make it a bit thicker.
