Review on 🔑 Kwikset 991 Juno Venetian Bronze Entry Knob and Single Cylinder Deadbolt Combo Pack with SmartKey by Josh Lewis

I have two such sets. I bought the first and made the mistake of not swapping both out when buying the second. The screw/linkage mechanism that holds the two parts of the lock/knob together tends to loosen over time, requiring tightening. I ended up using Loc Tite (blue) on the screws to secure them which helped. The loosening has ruined the paint around the door where the lock is attached, now I need to repaint that area. Overall I'm not very satisfied and would happily spend a little more for a better set. Either kwikset should redesign the connection mechanism (does anyone think a good doorknob and security lock for an exterior door should disengage?) OR they should inform the homeowners/installers and turn the deadbolt on with the product. the function is pretty decent. Saved me some money and when I added a second lock I was able to use the same key for our side and back doors. I appreciated it but am not satisfied with the quality.
