Review on TEAC CD-P1260: LCD Display & MP3 Playback CD Player by Todd Raynie

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect at first, but now it isn't.

Update: After several months of reliable performance, it began to show a problem with reading discs. It will frequently play part of a disc and then somewhere early in program, at the end of a track, it will just stop and freeze up. It occurs with both commercial and home-burned CD's. The only thing you can do is restart it, but it will stop at the same point every time. I can play those same discs on other players, such as my car, my DVD players and Walkman disc player with no problems, so I'm sure the fault is with the player, not the discs. I have disconnected the Teac CD player and hooked up a cheap DVD player ($30) and I play my music through it, with perfect results. It won't do random shuffles or other similar functions, but I never use them anyway. I don't see any reason to pay near a $100 or more for a CD player when a cheap DVD unit will work better.
