This pendant is well made; However, I found that the small head opening was not large enough to comfortably fit my 15 year old (246 grams) female Goffin Cockatoo and was very difficult to get it off. So I bought a medium size which is a bit big (but it's the best choice) and she's learning to live with that. The straps are stiff and strong, but probably not hard enough for a determined cockatoo, as she chewed through about 15% of the width of the strap in about 20 minutes. Not sure if this is the answer if you want to walk your bird.
