I'm a complete newbie to gel polish so I have no comparison. (I've never been to a salon!) I love the look of the gel and had Christmas gift cards so I bought this set. I watched YouTube videos and read reviews for tips and tricks. I have deep nail beds so there are always puddles of regular nail polish. I was very careful with this to avoid it, but still managed to work around a few nails a bit. Not bad for my first try! I bought an extra set of nail dehydrator and primer to make it last longer. I'm only on the second day of the manicure and still no peeling, cracks, chips etc. The colors are definitely different from what is shown but they are still very pretty. I am very happy with my purchase and plan to purchase more color sets!
