I've been working with Macs for a little over six months now, but before that I used to use the Mac mini at my employer. I'm an iOS developer. It is a joy to work with him because of his light weight, slim profile, and stylish keyboard; the touchpad is fantastic (although, unlike most Mac users, I do not make use of a mouse); and the retina display is great (rich, bright, but glossy, that is, strong glare when the sun hits the screen). Everything is done through the poppy, I pressed the button, and that's it; after it rebooted, and it's ready to go. The system and the software that came with it have been very carefully designed. Naturally, the Linux console; as a programmer, that's where I spend the majority of my time (vim, git, etc.). They claim that the operating period is 8 hours, but I never have less than a dozen items open at once, so in most cases, it only works for about 5 or 6 hours when there is a typical amount of demand placed on it. So, let's talk about the negative aspects, shall we? Expensive accessories. However, the majority of freezes are observed when working with the JetBrains IDE (I personally observe such jambs when working in appcode / rubymaine, xs jvm messes up). It freezes very frequently, and all of the familiar makavod developers have such a problem. In Safari, there are some cool gestures, but damn, this Safari hangs a poppy constantly, especially when there is a lot of js on the page. To put it another way, I am sometimes shocked because I have never seen this on Windows. When it freezes multiple times a day for no obvious reason, in general, there is a sense that contradicts itself: sometimes you want to throw out the poppy, and sometimes you want to keep it. Yes, and everything is stored on the solid-state drive (SSD). Well, also a finder, it's facepalm, of course; I haven't come across a single person who would argue that it is more user-friendly than the Windows explorer. Overall, the machine is quite good; but, if I were to buy it now instead of before the market crash, I would give it a lot more consideration because I'm not sure if it would be worth its price at all. If you are not a developer, then a machine running Windows is just as good as any other option. If you are a developer, however, you have no other choice.
