Review on Silverstone Tek ML04B: High-Quality Micro ATX Media Center/HTPC Case in Sleek Black Aluminum Design by John Finley

I've spent a lot of time trying this HTPC out to assemble and disassemble for various reasons, one of which is in particular that the dimensions are inconvenient and make installation difficult. The power cables rub against the blue-ray drive and pop it out of the case, so you need a smaller (longitudinally) power supply. I've used both a modular power supply and a full 1000w power supply (I know that's overkill), but a gaming power supply is a better fit than a modular power supply because the module's connectors don't match the Blueray. I ended up breaking the SATA connector a bit, but fixed it with some handy tools. Pros: - It looks good and for its price is better than the others on Amazon. (in my opinion) - It's sturdy and has a steel bar in the top of the case for extra support (you can unscrew it easily) - The front panel is amazing. You won't have room for your LCD if you have one, but there's a good dimmer, child locks (with a key) and the power button is also mechanically locked. Did I mention it doesn't look like fake plastic? - There is space for 4 fans on the side, I made that, I spent money on a very quiet type and I can hardly hear it. - Lots of ventilation everywhere - Works great for what I was aiming for (Media Center HTPC) Cons: - It needs to be longer e.g. B. 2-3 cm more from front to back to support Blueray + Power - Many people have claimed that it can store multiple hard drives, but let's be honest, even with a modular power supply this is not going to happen. You can fit a full size hard drive and possibly a laptop size hard drive if you are lucky with the cables. The case is slightly deformed at the front, so not perfectly aligned. You can fix it manually when it happens this way. However, it doesn't really stand out. Worth knowing: - You can use a regular ATX power supply. Not sure how well other PSUs fit, but the width is for ATX. Don't screw in anything other than the motherboard until you're ready to assemble everything. For example, you need to plug in the power adapter before the blueray, and then when you find that with the hard drive connected, you need to screw in the blueray and then screw in the hard drive, otherwise you win. You have no leeway. - If you have specific questions about PSU sizes, you can likely contact the support team for help with your specific setup. - The USB 3.0 connector didn't come with a motherboard adapter, so it's a full-size connector, not a smaller one. You may need to purchase one of these along with a case. Luckily I had one left - worth every penny!
