Edited 27 Feb 2019: It's been just over 6 months and 2 fan bearings are worn out . comes out and makes annoying noises. Remove a star. Avoid. It seems to be built quite solidly and works more or less as advertised. Big enough for my 15.6 inch laptop; A 17 inch laptop will protrude a few inches. The lighting is rather dim and unobtrusive. My main issue is that the device is actually powered from one of the two USB ports shown in the product photos, so you actually only get one USB port to use. It doesn't appear to be designed as a proper hub, but more as a "pass-through node" that connects the available power to 1 USB device, so many USB devices will not work with this arrangement as there is not enough power available. Because of this arrangement, it is powered from a male USB-A cable to a male USB-A cable, an abomination that shouldn't even exist and is difficult to replace. The air intakes for each fan are located on the bottom and right in line with the fan, making them easy to get blocked if you try to use it on your lap. The bottom edge fans are redundant as most modern laptops don't have them near the air intakes.
