Lids are cheap, unreliable and VERY DIFFICULT to screw on properly without "getting stuck" in a crooked position. It's like metal scraping against glass when screwed on - you can even hear it - definitely not a 'smooth' screw - be prepared to fight that. In fact, a jar arrived with the lid "stuck" in a crooked position and it was just as difficult to unscrew the lid without bending the lid and breaking the jar. I tried both glasses - both had the same problem. You'll probably be fine once the lids are on, but you'll be sure to leave sugar residue in the jars on the bottom when you refill them just because you have to fight those lids. Plus, the pop-up drain spouts also feel crappy, like they might eventually break away from use. I can't believe these glasses got such good reviews.
