It was just what I needed! If you need some serious "surge protection", this might not be the best option? But that wasn't my requirement and you can tell from the photo that it looks more like an extension cord (but it obviously offers some protection). I also agree that the outlets are too close together. but almost ALL splinters are like that! (WHY?) I wanted the sockets to be rotated sideways to compensate for this and also because I want the cord to hang BELOW when mounted vertically on the wall. All of the outlets would be reversed on most other extension cords that are installed cord down, but at least on this one, they're still sideways. And if you mount it horizontally, they're perfect. The packaging was AMAZING! The great attention to detail made me feel like it was first class. The box it came in was high quality cardboard with an outer envelope. Simple and stylish, easy to open, there were other nice touches. but my memory is fading (it took me a while to get to the rating). They even include a nice velcro strap for extra cords (but I ordered the length I needed). Who does it? He arrived very quickly and the company followed him. It's been so long since I've dealt with a company that seems to care. that's why i have high hopes for the lifespan of the product. (too soon to tell!) NOTE: Be careful what you order! I've seen people complain about the fork not being flat. This is the 2.6 inch version and the pictures clearly show the difference. The 2.6 inch version has a cable that comes straight out of the connector (not tilted down) and a deeper connector. The 6' version has a "flat connector". The plug isn't that deep and the cable doesn't come out straight but goes down. This minimizes the space required to get out of the wall, but it's not really a FLAT plug (which I also need for another area) - they're harder to find!
