My only complaint is that I'm used to using a six foot cable, which I feel is the minimum acceptable length for wrapping around trees or reaching concrete poles. Four feet won't shorten it (no pun intended) - and length won't affect anything other than negligible weight. So I have to carry the cable, the alarm and this. The necklace is smaller than expected but very well made. In fact, the head appears a bit rough, which is compounded by the impression that the key is really long - but only enters the first half inch of the lock. So it could be a normal length. And the body of the latch part looks cheap and may have a different finish than gloss black. The sleeve is nice and secured on both ends and there is a plastic mold at the end of the chain that you have to slide down to reveal the link that goes into the lock.
