This immediately lowered the drive's operating temperature by about 8 degrees Fahrenheit, more or less (varies slightly, from a minimum of 76F to a maximum of 78F degrees). Before the heatsink was installed it ran at 84F to 86F. This significantly reduces the temperature of the M.2 SSD. risking shorting out one of the chip's free points. I used the silicone straps that came with it. While the silicone pieces seem to do the job, I would have preferred a more durable method of attaching the heatsink to the SSD module. But I cannot fault the efficiency of this detail. She does what she has to do.
