Fixed my gate, suitable for portable audio and video equipment

I have a two-hand gate MM 502. Recently the gate would not open/close. The two beep error code indicated a faulty "limit switch" according to the manual, and some YouTube videos suggested replacing this circuit board (it contains the limit switch and the light sensor for the wheel counter). Replacing the circuit board wasn't difficult. Just a ton of torque screws to pop the lid. So far everything is fine after replacing the circuit board. The old board had no visible damage. But we've had a lot of rain in the last few weeks/months and this gate is a little notorious for water damage. Maybe it got too wet / damp in your hand. A $30+ part and 30 minutes to swap out really surpassed the $300+ for a new arm or $600+ for a new system.

Pros
  • VHF transmitter
Cons
  • Infinitely slow
