Review on πŸ› οΈ Enhance Your Home Mechanics Setup with the Park Tool Deluxe Repair Stand (100-5D Clamp) by Larry Boyd

So far, so good. And it works for me.

My old bike stand was 100% steel but very brittle, not designed for larger frames and scratched my bikes. I should have bought the Park Tool PCS-4-2 a long time ago because it saves me time and makes repairs so much easier. I've been using The Park Tool PCS 4-2 for a few weeks now and so far so good. The 100-3D head fits tight and doesn't scratch my bikes. When assembling it, I noticed that the holes drilled in the legs where the hinge pins attach are a bit close to the edge. Maybe it will become a problem over time, maybe not. And I think there should be some support between the legs so they don't fold if one foot accidentally touches the foot on the slippery floor. I think the quick release ring should have been mounted on the main tube of the frame and not on the extension tube. Each time the bike rack is raised, the worktop needs to be adjusted so that it isn't too high. Not a big deal but I think if the parts tray was mounted on the main pipe it might work better. I like that the tray is quick to remove and everything is stowed away behind the bedroom door. This is a very good device and I would recommend it to my friends.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty Construction
Cons
  • Base Required
