I bought this product because my license plate was originally only attached to the plastic bumper with screws. Cheesy and tacky, I know. After installing this bracket under my license plate, my car looks so much better as if the license plate had a house. To explain my title above. The tie serves no practical purpose other than visual aesthetics. With a tie you go from casual to professional or formal, depending on the tie. Likewise with the license plate. I improved the look of my car with a bracket.
