I have a motor boat that I park on gravel next to the driveway. This is one place where it is impractical to back up to hitch a trailer. However, I have a compact backhoe and it's easier for me to maneuver on a trailer. However, the excavator does not have a ball hitch, but a hook welded to the front loader. With this soft nylon shackle I can now just loop it around the hitch and then onto the hook so I can tow the boat wherever the truck can take it. To keep the shackle in place, you need to thread the knot through the loop at the other end. Nylon is stiff at first, but I expect it to soften over time. I see many uses for such a bracket. It would be handy to have in an off-road ATV or Jeep.
