Each of these bitter products (apple, cherry etc) are an imperfect deterrent at best. Some dogs are just too stubborn (cough, french bulldog puppy, cough) about bad taste to not stop them from chewing on the world. However, it works as well as anything we've used and is a lot cheaper than most. After trying a little on my finger, I can confirm that it tastes VERY unpleasant, but smells wonderful when used. Our pup tends to be put off if they've recently been given an intense and steady dose of their current target for elimination. It's also MUCH cheaper than the alternatives and works just as well as any of the others.
