Avoid a cheap power supply

I bought this power supply after the 30 year old original broke in my slot machine. I wanted to use this power supply while I was repairing my original. It worked fine for a week or so, I installed it. After installing the refurbished PSU, I decided to disassemble a new replacement PSU. I found the components to be cheap and the whole unit was assembled very cheaply. I've consulted several people who know more about arcade power supplies than I do, and they all warned me against using cheap power supplies. They all had stories of cheap power supplies ruining slot machines. I've been told that if I need a replacement power supply I should go for the Mean Well unit which is high quality and very affordable (around $35). I threw away the cheap RetroCade power supply and took the Mean Well as a backup just in case. While I haven't had a bad experience, I wouldn't recommend people buying a cheap power supply due to the risk of damaging delicate arcade boards.
