Deodorants do their job, as they say. They CANNOT stop things from creating an odor, but they trap it and prevent it from crawling out of the room they are in. I attached one to the underside of my trash can lid. The smells remain completely in the jar and as soon as I close it they disappear. My only complaint, and it's a small, VERY small one, and not the product's fault, is that it's thicker than I'd like, so it sticks out further into the can. I used industrial grade double sided tape to attach it and it works great! The price is great too!
