The TP-8 handset is a compact device with good sensitivity to audio signals. I also have the previous version (TP-7) and I don't notice any difference in performance between them. I just wanted to have spares on hand. They are good for telephone interviews. The recordings are of decent quality, but are not intended for broadcast, but can be used as such if necessary. I recommended this device to a list of journalists and a reader wrote to complain that the recording only captured his part of the conversation. After some trouble with him I said I wasn't kidding but just to cover all the reasons I asked if he was using the device in the same ear as the phone. That was the problem. (It's odd, however, that the device didn't pick up the other side of the conversation, considering nothing was between his two ears. - I apologize to him if he reads this message. I'm sure we all have made the same obvious mistakes again. I did it.)
