It's not the worst, but it definitely doesn't feel that reliable. I use it for astrophotography, which is perfectly fine as it includes a small lens and a slight upward tilt. That being said, unless you have accident insurance on your camera, I wouldn't shoot it by the pistol grip. Now if you have an easy point and shoot that's a different story, but if you have a rebel you might be better off spending a few bucks more on something more permanent.
