These thin, rough cloths are, as the name suggests, for decorative purposes only. They look pretty if tasteless, but they don't absorb moisture at all, the weave is so wide that every thread is visible (and can be seen through the towel itself), and when you try to wash them they get crumpled , crumpled, padded ball of fabric. So they are basically useless. I don't classify towels as "decorative", although I do like the festive theme. I'm sticking with my Crate and Barrel printed kitchen towels, which are large, absorbent, wash well and look great.
