For the last two years I have shaved my face and head with a Panasonic arc4 electric shaver. I bought this Andis razor for several reasons: - It's not expensive to try (replacement head/Arc4 razors are $50 each!); - It's lighter than the larger/heavier Arc4; and- I was hoping to find a quicker solution that would be clean-shaven. I'm pleasantly surprised. The low profile (and angled head) makes it easy to work around the ears. The overall shave is noticeably smoother than the Arc4. You get a close shave. Replacement heads/razors are MUCH cheaper to replace ($17 vs. $50); With Andis you shave a little faster; Your hands and wrists will never get tired of holding the razor. Overhead;- Good battery and strong motor; and - Easy to clean and maintain. The sound does not differ much from other electric razors, but it can be a bit louder. never mind This shaver had low reviews with pictures. They had razor burn and other problems because they abused this razor. This shaver is only suitable for stubble. If your hair has not been shaved for more than two days, you need to trim your hair/beard with clippers first. Then use this razor to remove the stubble. Also remember to clean and lubricate the shaving head/shaver after each use. Hope that helps.
