SMART hard drives warned me about a high temperature (127 degrees Fahrenheit!) and the rear 80mm fan wasn't even working. It can fry my hard drives. The cooling fan blew for a few seconds when the case powered up, and that was the only time it came on. I think the fan control circuit didn't work (possibly the heat register/diode died if it had one). This is a Mini-SAS case for a file server and the fan should always run as it is on the server, at least at low speeds. A server fan for forced cooling is attached to the rear.
