I do not use this stand as standard. I use it as a tool holder. Most of these types of stands have a tube that runs through the top of the stand and brackets that attach to the top plate. These posts appear to have welding issues between the downtube and crosstube. If you look at these booth reviews you will see a picture of what I am talking about. This stand has a much better mounting system (see picture) for the top plate. So far this has worked very well. The plate is very tight and doesn't slip. I was going to use it outside but it really is designed to sit on a flat floor and when fully extended it can tip over a bit. Although the stand is really good.
