Purchased for use with Macbook Pro (A1707, 15" model, Mid 2017) and Dell Latitude 7480. Power over USB-C and USB peripherals) worked except for the wired Gigabit Ethernet port. According to the box, the ethernet chipset is a Realtek RTL8153, so I installed the Realtek OS X driver and the problem was solved. Dell Latitude 7480 worked without additional drivers. USB-C charging is rated at 3A at 20V, which is slightly lower than the OEM chargers for both laptops, but more than enough to keep the laptops going while the battery is charging. I do have a second monitor, but I figured I wouldn't bother with DisplayLink and wouldn't mind using a separate cable to connect this monitor directly to my laptop, so I bought this dock rather than the more expensive model that is multiplexing is supported. e monitored. I ran into a problem: the Dell U2713H monitor didn't wake up (in most cases) after MBP turned it off after an idle timeout; The backlight actually turned on, the HDMI logo appeared in the top left corner, and the MBP recognized the presence of the monitor, but nothing appeared on the screen. The only way to get the monitor out of this state was to reconnect. Connect the HDMI cable or power cord to the monitor. I tried several HDMI cables with the same result. This was monitor specific as my 15 year old Sony worked fine when docked. The Latitude 7480 also worked excellently with this setup. I decided to swap the two monitor ports so that the docking station can drive the Sony directly and the laptop can drive the Dell U2713H directly. This worked fine with the MBP, but to my surprise, the Latitude 7480's HDMI output to the U2713H's HDMI input didn't work at all: the laptop recognized the monitor, but nothing actually showed on the screen until I forced 1080i out of the Intel -Graphic utility. I contacted Plugable support via email and they offered to swap out the dock to see if the one I bought was defective. But after finding out that the monitor wouldn't even work with the Latitude 7480 via a direct HDMI-to-HDMI connection without an adapter or third-party device in the middle, I realized something was wrong with the monitor's HDMI input true . Plugable Support directed me to another product that doesn't have the idiosyncrasies of the Dell U2713H. As someone who works in IT and deals with vendors on a daily basis, I have to say that this company values every sale and works hard to keep their products alive.
