Well built, all metal. It feels like it was made for the Silverado bed. The top perfectly follows the contour of the bed walls. I have a spray in the bed lining, no problem installing them. If you can remove the plastic panels where they are inserted I don't see how they should take more than 10 minutes to install for all 4. I looked at a few others but chose these because they didn't retract and didn't have plastic. When it's cold and I'm wearing gloves, I just wanted to have them ready to go. The ring is one inch in diameter, maybe 1/16 less depending on where you measure. No tools are required for installation or removal. I deleted one because I moved it fairly painlessly. I can get 2 more so I can mount a couple of these in the corners near the cabin so I can easily tie the ends of the rope to each of them outside the bed.
