WiFi hotspot works great. It's a good alternative to the Unif range that's in the same price and feature range, but without having to run a controller anywhere to play around with, as everything is cloud-based. The licenses are about $9 per year, but I think it's worth it with the support I got for it when I had a question about POE and VLAN performance. I got a few 2 cents to connect to a Technicolor modem/router combo box from my Spectrum ISP. Requires at least 15W of power over POE to operate, so anything at 24V and 0.5A won't degrade performance as only 12W is provided. Difficult to find this information anywhere other than the documentation stating that 802.3af is supported. If you are trying to use only this one on the network and no other VLAN management device, what is acting as a gateway must support the VLAN topology or specify a different VLAN. than managing VLAN 1 on the SSID results in the gateway not forwarding packets to the external network. You can still ping devices on the same subnet, but that's about it. This actually solved an issue for me when I was losing anything less than 50MB on my Technicolor modem/router combo provided by Spectrum. This increased the throughput to the contractually agreed 120 MB. It's worth it, and it's also interesting to see how Netgear covers its SMB line of network devices.
